Noting that he met with Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, President Sergio Mattarella and Pope Francis during his first stop in Italy, Zelenskiy thanked Italy for helping to protect the lives of Ukrainians. Zelenskiy, who said he met with President Frank-Walter Steinmer and Prime Minister Olaf Scholz during his visit to Germany, said that after contacts in the capital Berlin, he visited a military base in the city of Aachen where the Ukrainian military was trained. . Zelensky also announced that he received the Charlemagne International Prize on behalf of the Ukrainian people: “I am grateful to Germany for the largest defense package in the amount of 2 billion 700 million euros. In addition, Germany will support our country in the long term by providing 11 billion euros for defense,” he said.

Stressing that they had a “long and useful” meeting with President Emmanuel Macron during their third stop in France, Zelensky said: “There is a new military package. This is a powerful package. There are new political agreements. I thank France for the new opportunities it has given our soldiers in the fight against Russian terrorism, but now is not the time to go into details. Saying that he met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during his last stop in England, Zelenskiy summed up his visit to England as follows:

“I am grateful to the UK for agreeing to train our pilots. We are forming a coalition to train pilots for modern Western aircraft. The UK agreed, Poland agreed, and I’m sure France and other partners will join them. We also continue to work on the fighter coalition and are actively moving forward.
