Zelensky: Our cities resemble Hiroshima

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who attended the G7 summit, spoke about the ongoing war with Russia.

“Our cities, destroyed by Russian bombs and artillery, despite the fact that the enemy uses non-nuclear weapons, remind us of the destroyed paintings of Hiroshima,” the Ukrainian leader said during a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.

Speaking at the Memorial Park, Zelensky stressed that they are determined to return the lands seized by Russia, saying: “Our cities, which were destroyed by Russian bombs and artillery, even though the enemy uses non-nuclear weapons, remind us of the defaced photographs of Hiroshima.” .

Zelensky rebutted Russia’s claim that it had captured the city of Bakhmut and claimed that Hiroshima, the target of the atomic bomb, is today “a modern city that feels alive” and promised that the city of Bakhmut would be restructured in the future.

“The Russian genocide against us would have been successful if we hadn’t been so brave,” Zelensky said, claiming that Moscow had committed war crimes:

“We dream of returning our people who are now in Russian captivity. These are prisoners of war, civilians, deported adults and kidnapped children. We dream of victory. After our victory, we dream of peace.”
