President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky went to England, which did not spare its help in the war with Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and King Charles III during his visit to the UK following the start of the war by Russia. In his speech to the British Parliament, Zelensky reaffirmed his desire for fighter jets to defend his country.
Ukrainian leader Zelensky has visited the UK for the first time since the Russian-led invasion on February 24, according to news from The Guardian. Speaking in the British Parliament, Zelensky praised the UK’s leadership in the world.
Zelenskiy, who held a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, reiterated his demand for the fighter jet. Sunak stressed that the option of sending fighter jets to Ukraine by the UK is not ruled out. However, Sunak stated that long-range missiles and tanks were urgently needed.
Zelenskiy also joked at the end of his speech: “Two years ago, when I left the British Parliament, I thanked you for your delicious English tea. “I will leave Parliament today thanking you all for your powerful British aircraft,” he said.
Zelensky traveled to Buckingham Palace after Downing Street and met with King Charles. Pointing to Ukraine’s needs for aircraft here, Zelensky recalled that King Charles was also a pilot and said: “Every pilot in Ukraine is a king.”
