Zelensky: I will meet with European leaders

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky touched on the ongoing war with Russia and said he would meet with European leaders.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that a “tough fight” continues in the Donetsk region, which includes the cities of Soledar and Bakhmut. Zelenskiy said he was continuing talks with European leaders about providing military support to his country.

Zelensky recalled that the war between Russia and Ukraine continues in a video message he shared.

Zelensky said they were fighting for the cities of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where the most acute conflicts between the two armies in Ukraine took place.

“A tough struggle continues for the Donetsk region. The struggle continues for Bakhmut and Soledar, for Kremennaya (in the Lugansk region), for other cities and villages in the east of our country. Although the enemy has concentrated his most numerous forces in this direction, our soldiers, all defense and security forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine protect the state.”

On the other hand, Zelensky said that he continues to conduct telephone conversations with European leaders and continues to make efforts to increase weapons support for Ukraine.

Zelensky also said that they are preparing for the participation of the Ukrainian side in the Davos Economic Forum, which will be held in the coming days.

On the other hand, yesterday the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had completely taken control of the city of Soledar in Donetsk.

Serhiy Cherevaty, a spokesman for the Eastern Group of the General Staff of Ukraine, said that the information that Russia had captured the city of Soledar in Donetsk was not true, and said: “Clashes continue in the city.”
