When creating the list, the study also included the most commented attractions of 85 different travel destinations on popular travel rating platforms. It was studied how often various phrases were used in the reviews of different travelers, such as “big disappointment” or “not as good as expected”.

Topping the list of the most overrated cities is Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

According to the study, the percentage of disappointing tourists in Bangkok is 16.6%. The most disappointing attraction in Thailand’s capital is Khaosan Road.

Turkey’s tourism capital Antalya is one of the most overrated cities in the world.

In second place! According to the analysis, the probability that Antalya will disappoint a tourist is 16.5 percent! On the other hand, Water Planet Water Park is Antalya’s most overrated attraction.

Singapore ranks third on its list with a disappointing 15.8%. According to comments left by thousands of travelers on popular travel platforms, Orchard Road is Singapore’s “not as expected” landmark. The other cities in the top five places on the list are Munich in Germany and Rimini in Italy. In Munich, a disappointing figure is 15.7%, and in Rimini – 14.2%.
