Renowned actor Shahan Gökbakar has apologized to audiences following Disney Plus’ decision to remove domestic films, including Recep Ivedik 7, from the platform.

Comedian and actor Shahan Gökbakar’s seventh series, Recep Ivedik, aired on Disney Plus last December. The digital platform has decided to remove its original domestic works from the platform, including Recep İvedik 7.

“STAYING AWAY FROM MY AUDIENCE IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME”

“Disney President Bob Iger, by decision of the brain, has changed strategy and removed local content from the platform in many countries. I say abandoned because we also heard about it a week ago. I know very well that the management of Disney + Turkey is very upset by the decision of Bob Iger.

I know that millions of our viewers are members of Disney+ just because we are on this platform, and I am ashamed. I apologize to all of you. I think it is very wrong that Disney Plus, which makes such a decision so arbitrarily, without a single explanation to its audience, and does not care about its members in such a way. It is unacceptable for me to just work at Disney for 5 years, not publish and stay away from my audience. My happiness is that we broke the world record on a platform like Disney, and that’s my pride. Many thanks to all and rest assured that soon we will be together again. With respect to our audience”
