Last year, scientists from the Chinese University of Chinagua conducted a study that examined the relationship between men’s addiction to alcohol and baldness.
The study involved 1028 men aged 18-45 living in China. Subjects answered questions about hair loss, dietary habits, and mental health between January and April 2022. At the end of this study, Chinese scientists got very interesting results.
According to the results of the study, the rate of hair loss in men who drink drinks such as cola, fruit juice, energy drinks or tea with sugar daily is 30 percent higher than those who do not drink them at all.
This figure is 42 percent for those who consume more than one glass of sugary drinks per day. In other words, as men increase their consumption of sugary drinks, the likelihood of hair loss and baldness increases. However, according to scientists, sugary drinks are not the only thing that increases the risk of hair loss in men.
Factors such as foods consumed during the day, general health and stress are among the factors that affect hair loss. On the other hand, according to scientists, there is not a causal relationship, but a correlation between hair loss and the consumption of sugary drinks.
According to research by Chinese scientists, there is also a link between the consumption of sugary drinks and mental health!
According to a study recently published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Nutrients, excessive consumption of sugary drinks also negatively affects men’s mental health. According to the study, men who consume three or more sugary drinks a day are 25% more likely to suffer from depression than those who do not.
