President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin issued a statement in connection with the earthquake of magnitude 7.7 that occurred in Turkey.

After the Kahramanmarash earthquakes, which is called the “catastrophe of the century”, Turkey is trying to heal the wounds of the destruction experienced, while the world is experiencing activity. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian government to “permanently monitor seismically hazardous areas of the country.”

Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6, which occurred in Kahramanmaras, became a disaster for Turkey. The two earthquakes on February 6 destroyed thousands of buildings and killed at least 46,000 people. While aftershocks continued in the region after a major earthquake in 11 cities, the whole world took action to heal the wounds of the earthquake victims in the region and support search and rescue efforts. One of these countries was Russia.

“EARTHQUAKE” INSTRUCTIONS FROM PUTIN
After the earthquakes, which were called the “catastrophe of the century” and caused great damage to Turkey, Russia also took action. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian government to “permanently monitor seismically hazardous areas of the country.”

In a written statement from the Kremlin Palace, Putin instructed the Russian government to develop and implement measures to investigate natural hazards in Russia and to constantly monitor the situation in earthquake-prone areas.

THE REPORT WILL BE PREPARED BEFORE AUGUST
The statement indicated that mining and fishing industries and government agencies could be included in this process, and indicated that projects aimed at reducing the risks of natural events and mitigating the effects of natural disasters on the Kamchatka Peninsula and Sakhalin Island were also requested.

The statement emphasized that the necessary report on this issue should be prepared by August.
