Martin Griffiths, United Nations (UN) Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, spoke about the Grain Corridor Agreement.

Martin Griffiths, United Nations (UN) Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, announced that every effort is being made to continue the Grain Corridor Agreement.

Griffiths assessed the Grain Corridor Agreement, which expires today, at the UN Security Council.

“The United Nations, led by our Secretary General António Guterres, is doing everything possible to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative.” Griffiths said, stressing that they continue to develop close relationships with all parties.

The grain corridor agreement was signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2022 between Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and the UN.

The agreement, which was extended by 120 days from November 19, 2022, expires today.
