Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX and Twitter, said he is providing Internet support for about 100 Starlink satellites in Iran, where the Mahsa Emini protests are ongoing.
Elon Musk shared on Twitter the situation with Starlink satellites in Iran. In his post, Musk noted that Starlink satellites designed to provide access to satellite Internet are active in Iran, and their number is approaching 100.
In a previous post, Musk said he would open Starlink satellites to allow demonstrators to communicate in Iran, where protests are ongoing. Musk also provided similar assistance to Ukraine.
Starlink is a space system that SpaceX has been working on for years to facilitate internet access in underserved parts of the world.
More than 3,200 SpaceX Starlink satellites in orbit provide high-speed and broadband internet to the farthest corners of the world.
SpaceX plans to build a network of 12,000 satellites in Earth orbit with Starlink satellites. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
