Georgy Kurasov was born in 1958 in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) of the Soviet Union.

In 1977, he began studying at the city’s art academy. However, he was assigned to the department of sculpture because he lacked the “aesthetics of color”.

Although he was active in the field of sculpture in the early years of his creative life, he began to paint in subsequent periods.

Georgy Kurasov concentrated on painting after 1984.

However, he failed to become a recognized artist in Russian artistic circles.
