Artificial intelligence is one of the most interesting technologies of our time. Some think that artificial intelligence will change the history of mankind, others believe that it will bring great dangers. On the other hand, the tech world is talking about the artificial intelligence company xAI, which was recently introduced by American billionaire Elon Musk. Its website states that the company’s goal, called xAI, is to “understand the true nature of the universe.” However, Musk’s new initiative, which was known for its remarkable insights into artificial intelligence technologies, has sparked a heated debate.
Musk left OpenAI, of which he co-founded, and made important statements about the risks of artificial intelligence. For this reason, there are those who criticize and those who welcome the implementation of the famous billionaire’s own artificial intelligence project. So what do you need to know about xAI, the new AI company of Elon Musk, the most controversial tech entrepreneur of our time? Let’s take a look at the details of the news compiled by Çağla Üren from Independent Turkish.
American tech entrepreneur Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI was recently unveiled.
How the company will work in the field of artificial intelligence is currently unknown. However, it is expected to compete with leading artificial intelligence technology companies OpenAI, Google and Anthropic. However, xAI is also at the center of some criticism.
After Elon Musk left OpenAI, of which he was one of the founders, he made wonderful statements about artificial intelligence technology.

In his statements, Musk made it clear that he is on the side of those who are skeptical of artificial intelligence. In fact, he was among the many names that demanded a break in the development of advanced artificial intelligence robots until common safety protocols for artificial intelligence robot designs were developed and implemented and monitored by independent experts.
All of this led to criticism of Musk’s new venture. However, there are those who are happy and excited about the launch of a company called xAI. So how can xAI contribute to AI technology? Here are 6 things you need to know about Elon Musk’s new AI firm xAI.
1. The xAI team is led by Elon Musk

The team is also said to include people who previously worked at DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and the University of Toronto. However, it is argued that it was the members of the team who pioneered the development of some of the greatest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence technologies.
2. KhAI; Twitter will be in close contact with Tesla and other Musk companies

According to some reports, the “Twitter restrictions” that have caused a lot of backlash in recent days are also a result of this situation. Musk has been accusing leading AI companies of illegally harvesting data from Twitter for some time now. It is argued that these data are very important for the development of artificial intelligence language models.
Here, Musk’s introduction of his own AI company in the immediate aftermath of these major accusations, and the company’s announcement that it will be in close contact with Twitter, suggests that Musk may also be using a method that leads him to blame competing companies.
3. The new AI company is likely to be funded by SpaceX and Tesla investors.

How exactly the company is financed has not yet been reported. However, according to the Financial Times, Musk plans to get funding from investors SpaceX and Tesla. Details on how the company will be funded and many other matters are expected to come out in the coming days.
4. xAI could become part of Musk’s organization to prevent “artificial intelligence dystopia.”

In an interview he attended last month, Musk said: “For OpenAIThey are now closed source and clearly commercial. They are in close alliance with Microsoft‘ made a statement. The famous billionaire in the same interview stated that he had founded a new organization to prevent the dystopia of artificial intelligence. Here xAI can be positioned as part of this unusual organization. But there are some things about this question that put people in a dilemma.
Dan Hendrix, director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Security, is among the company’s advisors. The center is known for its campaigns against the security problems that artificial intelligence can create. So much so that last May they wrote a letter demanding that “the risk of human beings being wiped out by artificial intelligence is considered as important as other disaster scenarios such as pandemics and nuclear war.”
On the other hand, the Financial Times claimed that Musk disagreed with other members of the OpenAI board of directors about the safety of artificial intelligence and therefore left the company. All of this suggests that xAI may be taking a different line than its counterparts in AI security. On the other hand, the reactionary decisions made by Musk during his time on Twitter and the increasing competition in artificial intelligence technologies breed distrust of Musk’s vision of safe artificial intelligence.
5. It is not clear what the purpose of xAI is and what area of AI the company will focus on

However, when it comes to artificial intelligence, Msuk’s priority is safety. Recently, Musk said he wants to create a safer strategy for the development of AI. So “safety” could indeed be one of the main goals of xAI.
However, according to Musk, chatbots like ChatGPT learn the “politically correct” method and give answers that reflect the views of certain segments. On the contrary, Musk says he aims to create “the most curious” artificial intelligence. He also emphasizes that the systems his company will develop will attempt to understand the nature of the universe and will prioritize actions that benefit humanity.
6. The name “xAI” may have been chosen specifically to highlight issues such as the safety and welfare of mankind!

Because xAI is a concept that was known before the Musk company and is often used in the field of artificial intelligence. xAI is short for Explainable Artificial Intelligence. It is used to describe systems where humans can understand the rationale for decisions or predictions made by AI. In other words, it is the opposite of a “black box” AI system, where even its developers have a hard time understanding some AI solutions.
However, it has not yet been reported where the name of the new artificial intelligence company owned by Musk came from. For this reason, the xAI name may also come from X Corp, the billionaire’s 3.5-year-old son, X AE A-XII (X for short) and the umbrella firm of his other companies.
